چکیده

The paper presents two-scale numerical algorithms for stress–strain analysis of porous media featured by self-contact at pore level. porosity is constituted as a periodic lattice generated representative cell consisting elastic skeleton and void pore. Unilateral frictionless contact considered between opposing surfaces the For homogenized model derived in our previous work, we justify incremental formulations propose several variants which commute iteratively solving micro- macro-level subproblems. A dual formulation takes advantage assumed microstructure periodicity small deformation framework, problems micro-level. This enables to apply semi-smooth Newton method. global, macrolevel step two alternatives are tested; one relying on frozen identified microlevel, other based reduced associated with boundaries sets. Numerical examples 2D deforming structures presented proof concept.

Numerical homogenization of two-phase flow in porous media

Homogenization has proved its effectiveness as a method of upscaling for linear problems, as they occur in single-phase porous media flow for arbitrary heterogeneous rocks. Here we extend the classical homogenization approach to nonlinear problems by considering incompressible, immiscible two-phase porous media flow. The extensions have been based on the principle of preservation of form, stati...

A Numerical Modeling for Natural Convection Heat Transfer in Porous Media With Generated Internal Heat Sources

In this paper a numerical method is used to study the unsteady state natural convection heat transfer within a confined porous media with uniform internal heat generation. The governing equations based on the Darcy model and Bossiness approximations are solved, using the finite difference Alternating Direction Implicit (ADI) method. The developed program was used to simulate natural convection ...

Mathematical Modeling and Analysis Multigrid Homogenization of Heterogenous Porous Media

Introduction: The earth is perhaps the most obvious example of a porous medium. Flows in porous media are part of our everyday lives, from water in the garden, to oil in underground reservoirs. The mathematical modeling of flow in porous media, particularly with the ever increasing power of computers, is playing a fundamental and increasingly important role in the forecasting of petroleum reser...

Homogenization of two fluid flow in porous media

The macroscopic behaviour of air and water in porous media is often approximated using Richards' equation for the fluid saturation and pressure. This equation is parametrized by the hydraulic conductivity and water release curve. In this paper, we use homogenization to derive a general model for saturation and pressure in porous media based on an underlying periodic porous structure. Under an a...

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
